Calculator

Type what you want worked out. Fractions and roots stay exact, a name keeps its value from one line to the next, and a graph is one line.

Start from an example — choose one to put it in the calculator:

Exact or decimal? 1/3 + 1/6 gives 1/2 and sqrt(50) gives 5*sqrt(2): nothing is rounded away. Wrap a line in decimal(...) when you want the decimal instead.

How to write it

  • Use * to multiply and ^ for a power: 3*x^2.
  • One calculation a line. Give a value a name and use it below: a = 7/2, then a^2 + 1/4.
  • Fractions and roots are kept exact. Ask for a decimal with decimal(...).
  • For a graph, choose "A graph" above and change the formula inside the quotes.
  • It runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.
